Blue Starlite Drive-In Theater Announces “Highest Drive-In” At New Rocky Mountain Minturn Location Serving Minturn, Vail Valley; Avon, Breckenridge, Eagle, Edwards, et al.

Minturn, CO (April 2016)—Blue Starlite Urban Drive-In – Austin, Texas’ beloved boutique drive-in theater experience with a satellite location in Miami—will pop up this summer for a new summer location, in the quaint Vail Valley historic mining town of Minturn, Colorado. The drive-in will be located at Little Beach Park and will provide enough space to accommodate 40 cars who will tune in to the films on their FM Radios, as well as a comfortable sitting area enveloped by the mountains for film fans to set up their picnic blankets and enjoy watching movies beneath the starry night sky – the perfect intimate film watching experience that makes Blue Starlite so unique.

To celebrate the opening of the “highest drive-in the country”, at an elevation of 7,861ft, the theater will operate from July 6th till August 12th showing some of cinemas greatest movies on a custom 30ft pop-up screen. The drive-in will feature Blue Starlite’s famous 50s-friendly customer service, a traditional concessions stand, signature campfire- roasted s’mores as well as offer food options from some of Minturn’s best local proprietors.
Josh Frank, owner of Blue Starlite urban drive-in, shared his excitement for the new venture, “we are thrilled to be bringing the Blue Starlite experience to Colorado for the first time. We have been working for the last 2 years to make this possible and the business is finally in a place where we can do it right.” Frank continued, “Minturn is the perfect location to create a one of a kind drive-in experience like no other we have created before, along with the local small businesses in the High Rockies of Colorado we are going to bring something truly original and wondrous to a place where the sky is closer to the cars than any drive-in anywhere else in the country!"

Kicking the season off on July 6th, Blue Starlite will have a soft opening with the classic Clint Eastwood spaghetti western ‘A Fistful Of Dollars’ with an Après Drive-In party at the legendary Minturn Saloon, that was patronized by Eastwood himself. Following the opening night, there will be showings of other cult classics throughout the month such as, “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark”, a special sing-a-long version of “Grease” and family favorite “The Goonies.” Additional screenings and movies will be added to the line up if demand increases.
